SMS Terms of Service

These SMS Terms govern text message communications sent through BenchNote ("BenchNote", "we", "us", or "our"). BenchNote provides customer-communication software to independent custom shops ("participating shops"). By providing your phone number and opting in, you agree to these terms.

Program description

Messages are sent on behalf of the participating shop you do business with and include: order and work-status updates (for example, weekly progress updates and notifications when your order moves to a new stage of work), pickup notifications, and replies to status questions you text to the shop's number. If you joined our product waitlist and checked the consent box, we may also text you about beta access. We do not send promotional broadcast messages.

How to opt in

You opt in by giving your mobile number to a participating shop and agreeing to receive text updates about your order (typically at drop-off or intake), by texting a shop's update line directly, or by submitting our waitlist form with the SMS consent box checked. Opt-in is voluntary and never a condition of purchase or service.

Message frequency

Frequency varies with your order: typically one scheduled update per week per active order, a notification when your order changes stage, and replies to messages you send. Waitlist contacts receive occasional messages about beta availability.

How to opt out

Reply STOP to any message. You'll get one confirmation and nothing further. Re-enable anytime by texting START. Opting out of texts doesn't affect your order — the shop can still reach you by email or phone.

Reply HELP to any message, contact the shop you're working with directly, or email us at [email protected].

Message and data rates

Message and data rates may apply per your mobile carrier plan. BenchNote is not responsible for carrier charges.

Carrier liability

Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. Delivery depends on your carrier and device.

Privacy

Your phone number and message content are handled per our Privacy Policy. We do not sell your phone number or share it with third parties for their own marketing. Messages are transmitted through Twilio, our SMS provider.

Supported carriers

Available on most major U.S. carriers, including AT&T, T-Mobile, and Verizon. Service may not be available on all carriers or devices.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms; changes post here with a new "Last updated" date. Continued use of the SMS service after changes constitutes acceptance.
